GoldenEye 007: Relive the Classic on Switch and Xbox on January 27th

Nintendo and Xbox fans will soon be able to revisit a classic game with the release of GoldenEye 007 on Switch Online and Xbox Game Pass. Both Nintendo and Xbox announced in September that the game would be coming to their services, and it will be released on January 27th for Switch and Xbox consoles.

It’s worth noting there are differences in the releases on both platforms. The Switch Online version of the game will include new features such as widescreen mode and online multiplayer, allowing players to compete with friends remotely. The Xbox version of the game will feature a “recreated” version with dual analog stick support, 4K resolution, and a “consistent refresh rate”. Unusually, it will not have online multiplayer but will still have four-player split screen support. The game will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers and those who already own the Rare Replay collection at no additional cost.

It will be interesting to see how Goldeneye holds up today in its new modernised form, we’ll find out in a couple of days.
