Now that Stadia’s death is imminent, Google have released a tool to update the Stadia Controller’s firmware and provide Bluetooth functionality. This is a good move by Google as it will help eliminate e-waste and give gamers another wireless controller option for their devices.
If you want to update your Stadia controller, head over to https://stadia.google.com/controller/ and follow the instructions. Once your controller is updated you can press and hold the Y + Stadia buttons for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode and connect to your device.
There are a couple of things to note, firstly, when you update the firmware of your Stadia controller the switch to Bluetooth is permanent and secondly, Google is only making the firmware update tool available until the end of this year.
