If you’re a keen PC gamer, you may have a dazzling array of RGB-lit components inside your machine. But if you’ve bought them from multiple brands, you may have found yourself in a colourful mess. Getting all those lights to sync up is a challenge to say the least. You might end up with several apps, each trying to control a different part of your PC, and none of them working very well.
There are some tools that claim to unify all your RGB devices, but they often fall short of the mark. That’s why it’s intriguing to hear that Microsoft may be working on a way to make Windows 11 handle all your RGB needs. A software developer called Albacore has spotted a hidden feature in the latest test version of Windows 11 that allows you to adjust the lighting of your RGB components from the Settings app. You can see all your RGB parts, including your mouse and keyboard, and change their brightness, colour and effects. You can even make them match the colour scheme of your Windows desktop.
This feature hasn’t been officially announced by Microsoft, and Albacore says it’s based on an old specification from 2018. They think that means Microsoft is reviving the project. But don’t get too excited yet – it may not make it to the final version of Windows 11.
